Well Woman Care at Sacred Roots Birth & Wellness Center
Well-woman care comprises routine visits with your healthcare provider as a basic general health overview. It looks into your sexual, menstrual, and mental health.
An appointment usually includes health history, general examination, additional screening tests, or lab tests if need be.
How often do you need a well-woman visit?
ACOG recommends that every woman must visit their healthcare provider at least once a month.
However, the number of visits can increase for certain women that might need additional appointments if need be. For example, if your healthcare provider prescribes certain tests during the initial visit, you might need a follow-up visit to discuss these test reports and get treatment accordingly.
Who is a well-woman visit for?
Any woman can partake in a well-woman appointment.
All women over the age of puberty are encouraged to visit their healthcare provider at least once a year for general screening.
What happens in a well-woman visit?
During a Well-woman care visit we:
– Perform annual exams that may include a PAP smear, a pelvic exam, and a breast exam
– Prescribe referrals for mammograms, ultrasounds, and other tests, such as blood workups, if needed
– Evaluate the cause of pelvic pain in patients
There are a lot of different approaches to treatment for the issues patients may have. The method we choose depends on the extent of the disease and what the patient wants.
As a team, we work with our clients to discover the best ways to help them.
At Sacred Roots Birth & Wellness Center, we mostly do GYN visits, but we can also provide primary health care for our clients.
